oil painting
I have noticed that what seems like an insignificant feature of a painting at the beginning often becomes more significant by the end.

I paint in oils mostly and like colour and shape and how these interact. I normally paint with just a few colours. I do not overly plan a picture but like to see how it turns out. Sometimes this works and sometimes not. If not, I start again. What I have noticed recently is how some insignificant feature becomes more significant as the painting progresses. But then again with a stroke it can become part of the background again.
