Exhibition at the Fairhaven Singers' concert in March

For the second year I have been artist in residence with the Fairhaven Singers. I have been sketching in charcoal while they rehearse in Queen's College Chapel. Most of the sketches are images developed from my response to the music. They are performing James MacMillan's 'St Luke's Passion' which is a sung narration of the Passion story, unusually using the voices of children for the words of Jesus. As well as responding to the rhythms and colours of the music I have reflected on the echoes of the passion in contemporary events. Several sketches have been developed in ink and watercolour and several incorporate fragments of the libretto in the image. The concert is in St John's chapel on 18th March 2017. The choir will be joined by the East Anglia Chamber Orchestra.
