This year I the main theme is Wood Sections. With patterns often appreciated as or even mistaken for textiles, these complement co-exhibitor Louise Thomas's patchwork. Some of Louise's patchworks actually use printed fabics using some of my images. My miniatures of images taken through the microscope can be viewed with a magnifying lens on the day to show their full detail - just as if you were looking through a microscope yourself.
Chris COS 2018
An exhibition of new large prints of fascinating abstract patterns and vibrant colours, taken through the microscope. There will also be an interactive wall sculpture, whose changing shape will be recorded over the two weekends we are open (I share the exhibition with fellow artist Jane Thomas). I have also been making limited editions of small linocut prints.
July Open Studios
This year will have two themes:
- Surreal photographs of Unusual Occurrences at Hall End
- The hidden beauty of colours and shapes photographed though the microscope.
There will be new pictures on show and for sale, as well as postcards and books. You do not have to be an expert to enjoy them as my interest is in unusual images and striking patterns and colours, so please come along and see for yourself.
Milton is accessible off the A14 All welcome - come along, and be sure to visit the other friendly studios in Milton including Chris Thomas' microscope photography, Jane Thomas' books and illustration, Alison Hullyer's illustrations, Richard Morgan's glass mosaic work, Cheryl Bird and Linda Bartlett's jewellery.
Jane and I are exhibiting on the second and third weekends of July 2021, from 11 am to 6 pm.
Old friends and new - I look forward to seeing you!
